​Simon Cheshire is the author of a number of children's bestsellers, including the Saxby Smart detective stories for 8-12 year-olds and the recently re-released comedy adventure Bottomby. He also writes for the 12+ age group. These include The Prince and the Snowgirl, which was nominated for the Lancashire Book of the Year, and Plastic Fantastic which was shortlisted for the Lanarkshire Book Award. Before becoming a full-time writer ten years ago, he worked in the marketing departments of various booksellers, and has also presented his own series of radio documentaries on literary history. He lives in Warwick but spends most of his time in a world of his own.
