Update - Covid

Due to covid we are recommending that even those of you who prefer to send a hard copy also submit an electronic copy. This does not have to be an ebook it could be your final Word version. This will greatly help us.

Book entries

  • Only send ONE copy of your book.
  • Have you completed the entry form? Find it here. Please submit it online if possible.
  • When preparing your entry to post please keep the environment in mind and also, do not make it impossible to get into (you'd be surprised how difficult it can be when the entire parcel is covered in sellotape!). Just keep in mind we need a way in to get to your book!
  • Check the postal service you are using. Our address is a PO Box and therefore parcels via courier will not be delivered. You MUST use your country's native postal service.  For example, in the UK this should be Royal Mail; in the USA this would be the United States Postal Service. If this is a problem please email us.
  • We would also appreciate it if you do not use a signed for service as this can significantly delay things.
  • When posting from a country outside the United Kingdom it is important that you fill in the relevant sender declarations and custom forms correctly. Not doing so will result in your entry being returned by the postal system.
  • Customs form: if a phone number is requested please write "Unknown".
  • Your entry must be postmarked no later than the entry date. However, if posting from abroad please do not send via surface mail when close to the deadline.

Payment

If possible, when making your payment please include the title of your book. PayPal should have a box "Instructions to seller" where you can type this. If not, don't worry just let us know if you're paying under a different name.

Ebook entries

Ebooks are accepted if there is no print version available or if there are difficulties with us receiving your print version.
  • Make sure your ebook is in one of the following formats: Word, PDF, Mobi; e-pub. If your file is not one of these please convert it using Calibre or a similar software programme. We cannot convert files for you.
  • Please upload and submit your ebook via the entry form.
  • Please complete the entry form.
  • Click Submit and you're all done!

Entering Both ebook and Book

That's great. It gives us some choices here! Just be sure to read everything on this page. Only one entry fee needed to enter both versions.

Sending direct from a book store

This is proving to be problematic for Amazon and we currently don't recommend this method. However, you  can try it if you wish but please select the slowest delivery possible in the hopes they will use Royal Mail but this is not guaranteed. You can also try online stores like Waterstones.

If sending from Amazon please note the following:
Add the following information to the address:
City - Birmingham
County - West Midlands
Make sure the post code has a gap in the middle.

Please contact us for a phone number if it insists on having one. Please note this is not a manned phone line.
You must select the slowest delivery option available to help avoid your book being sending sent via a courier (it needs to be sent via Royal Mail). Although we cannot guarantee this and if it is sent via a courier this will cause problems and/or delays. Potentially not being delivered to us at all.

Please DO NOT send us any marketing material or press releases with your entry.

Now you're all set to go! Sit back, have a coffee and relax. The rest is all happening this end with our readers and judges debating the entries.
