Book entries

  • Have you completed the entry form? Find it here. Please submit it online if possible.
  • Please do not staple cheques - it hurts our fingers trying to detach them!
  • Cheques:  Only pay by cheque if your bank account is in sterling (no crossed out currency symbols are accepted). If you make a mistake and cross it out our bank will not accept this regardless of whether you have initialled it. Please write a new cheque if you have made a mistake. Make all cheques out to Rubery Book Award. Please DO NOT staple!
  • When preparing your entry to post please keep the environment in mind and also, do not make it impossible to get into (you'd be surprised how difficult it can be when the entire parcel is covered in sellotape!). Just keep in mind we need a way in to get to your book!
  • Check the postal service you are using. Our address is a PO Box and therefore parcels via courier will not be delivered. You MUST use your country's native postal service.  For example, in the UK this should be Royal Mail; in the USA this would be the United States Postal Service. If this is a problem please email us.
  • We would also appreciate it if you do not use a signed for service as this can significantly delay things.
  • When posting from a country outside the United Kingdom it is important that you fill in the relevant sender declarations and custom forms correctly. Not doing so will result in your entry being returned by the postal system.
  • Customs form: if a phone number is requested please write "Unknown".
  • Your entry must be postmarked no later than the entry date. However, if posting from abroad please do not send via surface mail when close to the deadline.

Ebook entries

Ebooks are accepted if there is no print version available or if there are difficulties with us receiving your print version.
  • Make sure your ebook and blurb are in the following formats: Word, PDF, Mobi. If your file is not one of these please convert it using Calibre or a similar software programme. We cannot convert files for you.
  • Please upload and submit your ebook via the entry form.
  • If emailing, please put the title of your entry in the subject of the email. Then attach your ebook, blurb and Payment receipt to the email.
  • Please complete the entry form.
  • Click Submit and you're all done!

Now you're all set to go! Sit back, have a coffee and relax. The rest is all happening this end with our readers and judges debating the entries.
