The Rubery Prize is a prestigious international book award seeking the best books by indie writers, self published authors and books published by independent presses, judged by reputable judges. Creative writing is such a key part of life for those who enjoy writing yet it is increasingly difficult to become traditionally published. Through our reputation of finding quality and outstanding books we aim to bring recognition to the works that win and heighten an author's profile. The Rubery Prize is now a well-established name in the publishing world. In 2017 the prize pot is approximately £2000. £1500 of which is allocated to our Book of the Year.
The 2016 Book Award is currently being judged
The shortlists and Book of the Year will be announced in a few months time (no later than the end of July). We cannot give a precise date yet as our judges will be reading and considering your work. Prize money and plaques will be sent directly to winners. An overall email will be sent to all entrants and those who have signed up to inform them that the shortlists have been announced.
For those that missed this year be sure to check back in August 2016 for the launch of our next award. Sign up for updates - we never pass your details on to anyone.
Thank you to all those who entered. The quality we received was outstanding and it is such a tough job to find the shortlists and then the winners. However, after much discussion the judges have made their selections!
Our three high profile judges for the 2016 awards are:
MAN Booker Shortlisted author, Clare Morrall, Poet and Stand winner Jeff Phelps, and author, dramatist and lecturer, William Gallagher.
